Social Bartering with Favabank...

Favabank Community Bartering Favabank is modernising the age old idea of barter, exchanging items and time as favours between members of your community. Connect with people in your neighbourhood via the exchange of favours.

Bartering Favours Next time you need a helping hand or need to borrow something, why not try to source it from your local community?

Barter and Recycle Your Unwanted Stuff All barter exchanges are tracked using a virtual currency called a 'Fava', to create a 'gift economy' where the more you have given, the more likely that people will want to reciprocate. The Fava is the foundation for 'pay it forward' economics.

Akhanda Yoga and Gong class £10 at Studio Kooks, The Mansion, Beckenham Place Park

    June 19, 2017 from 11:30am to 1pm
Practice a Path to Wholeness and Contentment…Akhanda classes incorporate a complete and balanced practice including asana, pranayama, relaxation, mantra and meditation with an ancient yogic philosophy theme weaved throughout. They are playful and encourage inner inquiry - this is your yogic journey - so you will be urged to tune in to what your body is communicating.Akhanda covers all of the directional movements of the spine to aid suppleness and prevent misbalanced flexibility and promotes equilibrium between effort and ease, relaxing into a posture with the aid of the breath where need so as not to force the body - letting it feel the posture organically. We hold the postures for at least five breaths to encourage the development of muscle memory. During challenging postures you will be coaxed to find your inner smile (or even to smile outwardly if you feel like it) and you will find out how to make your toes "happy toes".Akhanda promotes a non-competitive, supportive atmosphere where everyone is welcome - yoga is for everyBODY.At the end of each practice Angela closes with a gong meditation, which is wonderfully relaxing and helps to ease the chatter of the mind. The gong aids in healing - further extracting the toxins released during your asana practice, ready to be flushed away by drinking lots of water. Angela has yet to meet someone who doesn’t want to experience more of the gong!See More

Listings and Future Versions of Favabank:

Our initial aim is to build a community based around the idea of 'neighbour-to-neighbour' favour exchanges. If user activity reaches sufficient levels we hope to involve organisations and business in the exchange of Favas. For example, a community organisation might want to offer Favas to help attract volunteers to a project, or a business might want to accept Favas as part payment towards their goods and services. If this step is taken in the future, this directory will be used as a resource for users to find further opportunities to get involved with their community or to redeem their Favas.
