Social Bartering with Favabank...

Favabank Community Bartering Favabank is modernising the age old idea of barter, exchanging items and time as favours between members of your community. Connect with people in your neighbourhood via the exchange of favours.

Bartering Favours Next time you need a helping hand or need to borrow something, why not try to source it from your local community?

Barter and Recycle Your Unwanted Stuff All barter exchanges are tracked using a virtual currency called a 'Fava', to create a 'gift economy' where the more you have given, the more likely that people will want to reciprocate. The Fava is the foundation for 'pay it forward' economics.

Women are from the Moon and Women are from Venus at Bishop Justus School

    May 7, 2017 from 1pm to 3pm
Astrology Workshop. The challenges of modern life can sometimes leave us feeling anxious, emotional and unsettled, making it a struggle to enjoy the good things that life has to offer.  The demands of our go-getting world often lead us to lose touch with what we need and what we want as women.  This workshop shows you how to reconnect with your feminine power through the ancient art of astrology. Most of us are familiar with our astrological Sun sign, but did you know that you also have a Moon and a Venus sign?  Your Moon sign describes what you need to be relaxed and ‘at home’ with yourself, your body and your environment.  Your Venus sign represents what gives you pleasure and how you attract what makes you feel special into your world.  Both signs also provide vital clues on how we can best connect with and relate to everyone around us. On arrival, you will receive a personalised card with your very own Moon and Venus signs, together with a quick reference guide to how the Moon and Venus find comfort and joy in all twelve zodiac signs.  You will leave with astrological insights and practical tips on using your femininity to cope better with the ups and downs of life and to enjoy the ride. Join astrologer, Leena Chauhan, on a journey through the zodiac to get closer to the natural rhythms of your own Moon and Venus signs, and rediscover the unique woman that you are.Details:  www.motherdaughterdays.comNot just for mothers & daughters – everyone welcome.                           Cost: £20.00See More

Pamper Your Hands at Bishop Justus School

    May 7, 2017 from 1pm to 3pm
Did you know that the skin on our hands ages faster than any other part of the body? This is probably because they have to work so hard day-to-day and are exposed to chemicals, smoke, sunlight and extreme temperatures.   Also, the skin on the top of the hands is thin and delicate, with few oil glands, which means your palms and fingers need a little love to overcome the general wear and tear of daily routine.  A 10 minute hand massage with some natural oils can make all the difference.  Plus it’s a perfect way to unwind, if only for a moment.   Working with your partner you will learn some wonderful soothing massage techniques that are ideal for tired hands and dry nails.  Create your own bespoke hand cream, using a selection of aromatherapy oils in a nourishing coconut & aloe vera base and understand the special properties of the ingredients you have chosen with the beneficial nutrients of each for your skin. (No extra costs, all materials included)Details:  www.motherdaughterdays.comNot just for mothers & daughters – everyone welcome.                           Cost: £25.00See More

Listings and Future Versions of Favabank:

Our initial aim is to build a community based around the idea of 'neighbour-to-neighbour' favour exchanges. If user activity reaches sufficient levels we hope to involve organisations and business in the exchange of Favas. For example, a community organisation might want to offer Favas to help attract volunteers to a project, or a business might want to accept Favas as part payment towards their goods and services. If this step is taken in the future, this directory will be used as a resource for users to find further opportunities to get involved with their community or to redeem their Favas.
