Social Bartering with Favabank...

Favabank Community Bartering Favabank is modernising the age old idea of barter, exchanging items and time as favours between members of your community. Connect with people in your neighbourhood via the exchange of favours.

Bartering Favours Next time you need a helping hand or need to borrow something, why not try to source it from your local community?

Barter and Recycle Your Unwanted Stuff All barter exchanges are tracked using a virtual currency called a 'Fava', to create a 'gift economy' where the more you have given, the more likely that people will want to reciprocate. The Fava is the foundation for 'pay it forward' economics.

New 30 mph Speed Limit along the Glanty / Causeway?

Posted by John Durrant on Tuesday 8th May 2012, 10:34AM

Am I going mad or has the speed limit recently changed from 40mph to 30mph along the Glanty / Causeway - A30 between Staines bridge and Runnymede Roundabout?

I'm sure it used to be 30mph. If it has changed, wouldn't it be fairer to drivers to make a bit of an effort to let them know about it to avoid getting caught out?

The 30mph just happened to catch my eye driving towards Staines, otherwise I'd have carried on assuming it was 40mph. What's needed when a change is made is big signs - and enough of them to catch a driver's attention...

Via the power of 'Twitter' I've been informed that the speed limit has in fact changed. There is one sign as you go from Egham to Staines - but shouldn't there be more if it suddenly changes?

I bet an excuse of 'I didn't see the new sign officer' wouldn't be much of a defence for a driver who was caught unawares...
